    HRH Princess Lalla Salma chaired, on Saturday in Marrakech, a gala evening "A donation for life" to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the creation of Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment.

    Held under the theme of solidarity and sharing, this gala evening enabled to raise funds for the construction of an oncology center in Béni Mellal.

     The fundraising which reached 150 million dirhams will also be used to build a regional center for oncology in Laayoune.

     In a speech on this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Salma, chairwoman of the Foundation, thanked HM King Mohammed VI for his solicitude for the institution, noting that this event offers the hope regarding the possibility to combat any illness.

     HRH Princess Lalla Salma underlined that this gala, which brought together figures from all continents, will contribute to establishing an oncology center in Béni Mellal , "which we hope will help many patients to recover".

     The gala evening, with a strong symbolic dimension, is a voluntary-based contribution by the Foundation to put this health issue in focus at the international level, join efforts to contain it and develop comprehensive humanist approaches to treat it.

     The event was marked by artistic shows mirroring the rich Moroccan culture and its openness on the different tendencies. The guests also had the occasion to discover the Moroccan culinary art which symbolizes a rich and varied history.

     The gala was attended by several Moroccan and foreign high-ranking figures from the spheres of politics, economy, arts and culture.
