HRH Princess Lalla Salma inaugurates in Taroudant reference center for reproductive health and early detection of breast and cervical cancer

HRH Princess Lalla Salma, chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, chaired, on Wednesday in Taroudant, the inauguration of the reference center for reproductive health and early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
The center, which seeks to improve women's access to services of reproductive health and early detection of breast and cervical cancer, includes 5 checkup rooms, an ultrasound room, a mammography room, colposcopy room, a control room, a pharmacy, an office, a sterilization room and training rooms.
The project, worth over 4 million dirhams funded by the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment and the Health Ministry, will benefit over 2 years some 82,000 people aged 45-69 concerning breast cancer early detection, and will benefit over 3 years some 109,000 women concerning cervical cancer early detection.
On this occasion, details were given to HRH Princess Lalla Salma on the health care offer in the Souss-Massa-Draa region, in addition to data on the said center.
According to the given information, women represent 52.4% of the province's population (841,000 inhabitants, including 73% in the rural area), while the number of women who can procreate is estimated at 231,157.
The province of Taroudant has 6 urban health centers, 6 urban health centers with maternity wards, 62 rural health centers, 18 rural health centers with maternity wards and 27 dispensaries.
